Numerical Modeling of an Umbrella-Shaped Bolt and Its Anchorage Characteristics in Rock Engineering

The umbrella-shaped bolt (U-bolt) is a novel type of mechanical used for rock reinforcement. It made smooth steel bar, hinges, rigid rods, and sliding blocks. During installation operation, the tension converted into extrusion force on mass deep in slope, so that higher compressive strength to obtain greater friction anchoring force. In this article, structural analysis results U-bolt provided, relation between penetration point normal stress discussed. Based these analyses, simulation method proposed. elements are identified at first, then calculated, tensile increased reasonable value. Meanwhile, applied deep-buried reinforcement reveal can alleviate fracturing degree reduce depth displacement excavation damaged zone (EDZ), decrease landslide distance.
